Is the Pen Mightier than the Sword?

I think words and violence both are powerful because when you are violent you feel so bad that you want to call people bad words. Like if I say a bad word to a friend she wouldn’t be my friend anymore and she will just turn her back on me. She will tell her parents on me. Words can be violent.
