I Am No Longer Afraid

I am no longer afraid

Of the violence that I am faced with every day

Because I have learned to overcome violence

With compassion

I am no longer afraid

To smile at someone and say hello

Because I know that it is showing compassion

And I know that I may have brightened someone's life

I am no longer afraid

To stand up for what I believe in

For I could only hope that the world

Be filled with compassion for one another

And hope that it will reflect on who I am

I am no longer afraid
