Doing the Right Thing

Help! This is a word that no one wants to have to say, because I learned that there are no superheroes that are going to fly down to save us when we need help. We must do the right thing and help others. What does it mean to do the right thing? It means to be honest, helpful, and to serve others. I always try to do the right thing.
Thanksgiving is a time when many families sit down at the table for a large meal. However, there are many people who go hungry. This year, my dada and I want to the George R. Brown Convention Center for the HEB Feast of Sharing that provided Thanksgiving meals to hungry and poor people. My dad and I worked as busboys, and we learned up after the people finished eating. We also set the tables for new visitors to eat. I also greeted people and wished them a Happy Thanksgiving. Helping the people made them smile, and they thanked me for helping them.

Helping others also made me feel great! Hearing the people say thanks made me feeling like I had done something good by helping them, and I learned to be thankful for what I have. I want to continue to do the right thing by helping others in the future. I hope to also be a role model for others because if we all served one another, the world would be a better place. That day, I learned that I don’t have to have superpowers to be a hero.
