Truth and Beauty
Truth is sincere, truth is true, truth
is honesty, truth is reality, truth is actuality, and truth is
beauty. These are things that truth are in my life; there is beauty
in truth. The feeling that you now know what really and truly
happened is beauty. Sure, there is paining truth, but in the end
if you never really knew the truth you would suffer all your life
wondering what really happened. So in the end it would be more
pain and suffering not to know the truth.
These are facts, not opinions as you would think they are. I know
this because one Friday night my parents sat down and asked us
to join them. I knew something was wrong. I just couldn't grasp
it. They told my two sisters and me that my mom was diagnosed
with breast cancer and we all cried. I looked over at my dad and
realized it was the first time I ever saw him cry. I hated everything
at that moment. Then my mom told us to just go on with our lives.
The truth truly hurt. But in the end it remarkably brought our
whole family together. We called each other more; talked more,
saw each other more. My Cousins, Aunts, Sisters, Brothers, Moms,
Dads-everyone. It was then beautiful. I had realized that God
has blessed me from then on; I then saw beauty all around me.
It is something you can't really explain - it is something you
feel.
I ask you to close your eyes and think which is more important
to you? For if you truly think, they are one. They are the same.
Don't think of truth being hurtful; think of all the beauty there
is in truth and I know you will agree. "Beauty is Truth,
truth is beauty, -that is all ye know on earth and all ye need
to know." -John Keats
