Eternity
Fear is the dark night, sucking
away the light, in it's iron grip, the
light is held, struggling, flickering, like
a candle flame, until dawn, as it rises,
again, light over dark, good over evil.
Yet, at sunset, though it
struggles to stray, it sinks lower over
the hills, pulling away, although its
efforts are in vain, again it is at the
dark night's mercy.
Fear is also an iron lock on man's
heart, pushing, whispering, urging.
Hope, is the key to the lock,
propelling against fear's will,
prodding, straining, with the lock, in
close combat, striking back with each
move, battling, into eternity.
