Hope and fear are states of mind. Say
you were afraid of bees, it is not the bee itself its your mind.
That makes you afraid. Otherwise everyone else would be afraid
of bees too. Fear makes me shiver and makes me feel a little stressed.
It makes me want to go close to something that reassures me. Dear
makes me avoid things that I could have a lot of fun doing otherwise.
Fear does not inspire me. But hope makes me feel powerful. Even
if I am sad, there is just something in hope that makes me feel
better. Hope makes me feel like I can do better than I would be
doing otherwise, and it makes me do things I would not be doing
otherwise.
